When you’re dumb and remove the battery from your laptop and don’t have a cmos battery that works you will get lots of errors next time you launch GNOME. When this happens just type:
sudo date -s MM/DD/YYYY
sudo clock -uw
then reboot and everything will work again. You will thank yourself for this someday.
