So I’m in San Jose and D.J. needs me. Kris called me last night because there was some kind of crazy goop in his eye and she didn’t know what to do. Of course I didn’t either so we agreed I should go back to bed and she should stay up all night worrying. In my defense I had been up for 36 hours.
It turns out he has a cataract. WTF? How do you just go to sleep one day and wake up one day and not be able to see out of one eye? I also thought it was crazy because he seemed so young to me but Kris astutely pointed out that he’s seven. Shit just goes by way to fast now and it sucks that I have a dog to remind me that I’m creeping slowly towards death. Add into the mix that we now have an almost-three-year-old that we’ll have to explain death to in a couple years and it makes you realize that pets are a terrible idea. Sorry Justin and Kari you guys are in for it.
At least now I realize that I probably only have a few years more with him so I need to be nice. D.J. you can lick your nuts as much as you want, I won’t yell at you. I was probably just jealous anyway.
The moral of the story is, don’t get pets. Or if you do, be nice to them they die quick. Also don’t go to sleep because you might wake up and be blind.
At least I have a wonderful wife at home who is handling all this while I’m away. Thanks baby.
My dog has a cone on his head, I’m so depressed.

Posted 14 Mar 2007 at 1:59 pm ¶He’s only 7- he could still live another 7 years. That is way too short of a life though. Death is a very sad thing, but it’d be much more sad to not have the joy of pets in your life. You should get a sulcata or a cockatoo, they will out live you.
